The Opportunity
ERA seeks a dedicated Project Manager/Trainer for our Fostering Access, Rights and Equity (FARE) grant project, which helps tradeswomen learn about and access their employment rights and benefits and address gender-based violence and harassment (GBVH) in their workplaces. The grant is a component of ERA’s project the National Taskforce on Tradeswomen’s Issues. This position reports to the ERA Policy Director & Deputy Legal Director
The Project Manager/Trainer’s primary responsibilities will include communicating FARE project components with tradeswomen-serving organizations as well as directly with tradeswomen. They will also work in partnership with leadership of the National Taskforce on Tradeswomen’s Issues for project success. The Manager/Trainer will coordinate roundtables in various states to gather ideas from tradeswomen and other stakeholders for eliminating GBVH in the workplace. They will provide Know-Your-Rights trainings virtually and in person, in collaboration with ERA legal staff, as well as coordinate workshops focused on overcoming the trauma of workplace harassment and discrimination to be taught by subject matter experts. They will be responsible for contacting other individuals and organizations working to combat GBVH in construction to support the collection and dissemination of best practices in union contracts, project labor agreements, procurement contracts, respectful workplace programs and other vehicles for ending GBVH.
The Project Manager/Trainer will have the following major responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with leadership of the National Taskforce on Tradeswomen’s Issues for project success.
- Create a roster of current Taskforce members & conduct outreach to potential new members in furtherance of project goals.
- Communicate with tradeswomen, tradeswomen-serving organizations and other stakeholders working to eliminate GBVH in the construction industry.
- Compile data and collect stories for reporting.
- Refer tradeswomen to ERA training and materials related to direct services, pro bono attorney referrals, and the Advice and Counsel Helpline, including public-facing legal resources, self-help tools, and Know-Your-Rights materials.
- Coordinate virtual and in-person roundtable meetings and report on attendees and findings, including ideas, suggestions, and best practices towards eliminating GBVH in the construction industry.
- Coordinate virtual and in-person workshops focused on overcoming the trauma of harassment and discrimination with subject matter experts. Capture and report on workshop attendees and feedback from attendees.
- Conduct Know-Your-Rights sessions for tradeswomen.
- Work with the ERA’s administrative/program coordinator to carry out program related logistics and tracking, including but not limited to: collecting and reporting out on volume, demographic, referral data and trends on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis; documenting client success stories and testimonies;.
- Refer tradeswomen to attorneys, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of the following professional and personal qualities, skills, and characteristics:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience of working with or in the construction industry
- Demonstrated interest in and commitment to social justice, civil rights, gender equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
- Experience advocating for, representing, and/or collaborating with construction workers, women and girls of color, immigrants, individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+, and/or survivors of sexual trauma and/or gender-based violence.
- Ability to build successful relationships and partnerships with tradeswomen, tradeswomen-serving organizations, and other construction industry stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to excellence, attention to detail. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to deliver results, multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, take initiative, exercise good judgment, follow-through/follow up, and problem solve.
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid-remote work setting.
- Comfortable in a tech-heavy environment and adept at navigating and quickly learning systems and apps.
- Strong commitment to and comfort working in a diverse workplace that includes but is not limited to age diversity, cultural diversity, racial diversity, neuro diversity, and sexual orientation and gender/gender identity diversity.
- Multilingual and multi-cultural capabilities.
- Experience delivering training related to workplace justice and/or combating sexual or gender-based violence.

- The position is remote and can be located anywhere in the United States.
- Travel for projects and events will be required.
- Candidate must have a valid authorization to work in the United States. ERA is unable to sponsor work visas. ERA will also not provide relocation assistance.
Compensation & Benefits
The FARE Project Manager/Trainer position has an annual salary of $85,000 with comprehensive health and life insurance benefits, paid holidays, sick time, and vacation.
This is a grant-funded 15-month position, with the possibility of continuation if additional funding is secured.
