We partner with large companies where students learn about careers they may not have known existed, participate in professional development workshops with corporate employees, and also obtain access to internships/entry-level positions.

This job listing is for a role in The Diversity Org’s Global Schools Department, where you will work with schools all around the world to introduce our program to their students.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: 5–8 years of professional experience in financial analysis or accounting, with a strong focus on nonprofit organizations, preferably US-based.
- Certification: Must hold a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification.
- Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, Microsoft Office Suite, and G Suite
- Strong proficiency in Quickbook (Certification preferred)
- Ability to create complex financial models, reports, and dashboards using Excel/Google Sheets.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of US regulations affecting nonprofits, including IRS rules, GAAP), and nonprofit financial regulations.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple financial processes simultaneously and meet deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Record Maintenance:
Accurately record and categorize all financial transactions in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).Track income and expenses related to nonprofit programs, grants, and operations.Ensure all receipts, invoices, and financial documents are appropriately filed and maintained for audit purposes.Payroll and Employee Transactions:
- Oversee payroll processing for employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments, tax filings, and compliance with labor laws.
- Maintain records of employee hours, salaries, bonuses, and other compensation.
Independent Contractor Payments:
- Manage payments to independent contractors, ensuring proper documentation (e.g., W-9 forms, contracts, invoices).
- Issue 1099 forms at year-end for contractors.
Expense Management:
- Record and track travel and operational expenses, ensuring compliance with nonprofit policies and budget constraints.
- Maintain records for travel-related expenses (e.g., receipts, mileage logs, per diem).
Audit and Compliance:
- Ensure financial records are accurate, organized, and ready for audits at all times.
- Work with external auditors to facilitate annual audits, providing necessary documentation.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations (IRS rules, GAAP, etc.).
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly financial reports for the CEO, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and departmental breakdowns.
- Provide a clear, actionable summary of the financial status of the organization, highlighting any variances from budget or prior months.
Tax Filings:
- Assist with the preparation and filing of tax documents, including Form 990 and payroll taxes.
- Stay current on tax laws affecting nonprofit organizations and ensure compliance.
Corporate Partner Payment Tracking
- Track and verify payments from corporate partners, ensuring all commitments are met on time.
- Maintain organized records of corporate sponsorships, donations, and partnership agreements
NOTE
- Training: Extensive training will be provided to help staff carry out all listed responsibilities and be successful in this role.
