Archdiocese of Louisville. We provide help and create hope for the poor and vulnerable through a wide range of programs, assisting clients of all races, backgrounds and beliefs. Our service area includes 24 counties throughout Central Kentucky.

General Summary:
This position works as a casework for the Preferred Communities – Intake and Referral Program (PC-IR) for Cuban and Haitian clients. This position’s responsibility is to help the PC-IR clients reach their individual goals while empowering them to achieve stability in their lives. The PC-IR position will have an assigned caseload of clients with more complex barriers such as single mothers, elderly, survivors of domestic violence, LGBTI individuals, etc. This position will work closely with the Cuban and Haitian caseworkers and will be supervised by the Cuban and Haitian Coordinator.
Essential Duties and Tasks:
1. Determining client eligibility following ORR guidelines.
2. Completing a psycho-social intake of client’s background.
3. Assessing client’s individual current circumstances, strengths and barriers. Creating realistic short- and long-term goals to reach self-sufficiency while utilizing client’s strengths and addressing client’s barriers.
4. Exiting client’s that have reached self-sufficiency
5. Maintain files and documentation standards to ORR specification
6. Actively develop and maintain community partnerships with local community resources to connect clients.
7. Provide support for homelessness prevention and housing management including making appropriate rental assistance and Section 8 referrals.
8. Provide support for family crisis management including assistance with referrals to domestic violence services.
9. Assist clients in identifying and addressing current financial opportunities and challenges, while providing holistic perspective on financial education and stability.
10. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending agency in-service programs, educational workshops, state and national trainings and conferences, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
11. All other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in social work, social services or related field
1-2 years of relevant work experience, preferably with immigrant and/or refugee populations

Specialized Skills and Knowledge:
· Fluent in Spanish required
· Additional fluency in Haitian Creole preferred
· Ability to work under pressure
· Ability to stay organized
· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
· Ability to accurately examine and analyze information
· Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
Education Requirements (Any)
Bachelors degree in social services field is preferred but not required.
