Position Summary
The Social Responsibility & Youth Programs Coordinator will serve an integral role in amplifying the organization’s philanthropic and youth sports efforts. The Social Responsibility & Youth Programs Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Senior Managers of Social Responsibility and Youth Programs to make a positive impact in marginalized communities in addition to supporting the team’s youth sports programs and events through administrative support, events, and programs execution. The role will also contribute to the overall success of the organization by engaging in cross-departmental functions where appropriate in a unified effort to reach business goals. This position will serve as a 50/50 split between the Social Responsibility & Youth Programs departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Communications Relations:
- Provide hands-on support at all community events.
- Research and identify funding opportunities and maintain funding cycle database to support philanthropic efforts.
- Assist with the management of the foundation’s CRM to engage and retain donors in partnership with the Sr. Manager of Social Responsibility.
- Research potential community partnerships that will elevate our brand and presence in the community for potential service events, corporate partnership activations, etc. Maintain up-to-date contact list of all partners.
- Research local non-profit organizations that will serve as potential beneficiaries.
- Assist Sr. Manager of Social Responsibility with management of project timelines, event calendars, activation guides, donation requests, inventory, database management, and volunteer engagement.
- Track and document program outcomes/impact for community initiatives.
- Assist with data collection of the Annual Social Responsibility Report and other pertinent data points.
- Assist with tracking player’s appearances, community engagement and volunteer hours of front office and community members.
- Assist with coordinating logistics of corporate partnerships activation logistics from the community perspective.
- Provide support with board governance tasks related to the Dallas Wings Community Foundation.
Youth Programs:
- Provide hands-on support at all youth events and youth activations at home games.
- Assist Sr. Manager of Youth Programs with monitoring, documenting, and ensuring the safety and quality of experience for youth athletes, front office, facility staff, and Wings Talent at events.
- Research and identify local youth organizations, facilities, and tournaments to grow youth database, encourage participation, and impact ticket sales opportunities.
- Research potential corporate partnerships opportunities that will elevate youth programs experience, reach, and value to the brand.
- Track and report youth facility bookings, creative requests, communication timelines, and on-sale timeframes.
- Manage internal creative requests, event registrations, and inquiries using Monday.com, Formstack, and SportsEngine.
- Assist with market research on WNBA/NBA and alike youth programs to elevate and develop internal youth programs to ensure efforts are generating a life-long impact and revenue.
- Assist Sr. Manager of Youth Programs with management of project timelines, event calendars, activation guides, inventory, database management, and youth coach’s schedule.
- Assist with data collection to report to leadership, the league, and interested corporate sponsors.
- Serve as a role model by promoting sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork.
- If applicable with previous basketball and/or youth coaching experience; assist in the execution of engaging basketball training sessions, teach fundamental skills, game strategies, and basketball IQ in a positive and encouraging environment.
- Maintain a high level of content knowledge relating to best practice trends in WNBA community and youth sports activations.
Game Day Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on support for all games.
- Prolonged standing, walking, and extended work hours.
- Must be available to attend all home games for Dallas Wings, as well as attend most community events. Games & events may take place on nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

This position reports to: Vice President of Social Responsibility & Executive Director of the DWCF & Youth Program Sr. Manager

Job Requirement:
- Formal Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
Relevant Work Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience with community engagement, sports philanthropy preferred.
- 1- 2 years of experience with partnerships and event planning.
- 1-2 years of previous fundraising preferred.
- 2+ years of previous basketball and/or youth coaching experience preferred, not required.
- Work Location & Hours: Work is performed in the office and/or at one of the arenas as determined necessary by the Company. Must be available to attend all home games, as well as attend company events. Games & events may take place on nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
