The Director of Philanthropy will play a key role in advancing Boston Ballet's mission by managing a portfolio of 75-100 donors and prospects and focusing on executing an ambitious annual fund growth strategy, building the donor pipeline, providing campaign leadership, and fostering meaningful partnerships with board members and key stakeholders to advance Boston Ballet’s long-term goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Donor Portfolio Management
- Manage and grow a portfolio of 75-100 donors and high-potential prospects, cultivating relationships that inspire increased philanthropic investment.
- Develop and implement personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies that drive sustainable revenue growth.
- Serve as a key ambassador for Boston Ballet, engaging with board members, donors, and influential stakeholders, representing the organization at high-profile donor events, performances, and community engagements.
Endowment Campaign Leadership
- Contribute to the campaign prospect pipeline, strategic planning, and fundraising progress reports to ensure the Ballet is tracking to achieve its goals.
- Participate in developing solicitation strategies for significant campaign prospects and ensure action plans are implemented.
- Develop materials for the Cabinet Campaign and related board presentations.
Execute Annual Fund Growth Strategy
- Partner with the Chief Development Officer to execute an ambitious annual fundraising strategy focused on significant, process-driven prospecting.
- Build and expand a robust donor pipeline in collaboration with board leadership, identifying and engaging future major gift prospects.
- Create and manage pathways for donors to deepen their connection and commitment to Boston Ballet in partnership with relationship managers and senior leadership.
Strategic Analysis and Reporting
- Partner with Development Operations to design and provide strategic reporting for leadership on donor engagement metrics, progress towards goals, and opportunities for growth.
- Leverage data-driven insights to evaluate progress and optimize pipeline engagement initiatives.
- Create compelling reports that foster a culture of philanthropy within the organization and broader community.
