Summary:
The Chief Clinical Officer is responsible for the creation, development, and continuous improvement and fidelity of TVN’s chosen clinical models and interventions in all geographic locations and programs. This position provides clinical leadership related to the care and treatment of TVN’s clients with complex mental health, social and emotional needs. The CCO seeks opportunities for clinical performance improvement, integration and coordination of care across TVN's continuum. The CCO, in collaboration with the ELT, serves as the primary clinical voice for clinical strategy and program development decisions.
Essential Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure ethical standards of productivity are being met and responsible for providing mentorship, education, and clinical leadership for TVN’s clinical staff to support the execution of clinical operations at all levels of the organization including the implementation of Trauma Informed Care throughout the organization, including foster parents and childcare workers. Assures that medical services are aligned with TVN’s Model of Integrated Care, including oversite of tele-psyche and psychiatric services.
- Assists the President/CEO and CPO in the development and the maintenance of community partnerships and referral sources.
- Works closely with the PCQI Department to ensure clinical quality standards are met and accreditation, licensing & certification requirements are achieved and sustained.
- Stays abreast of best practice clinical protocols and evidence-based practices. Works collaboratively with CPO and VP - Programs in developing best practice clinical protocols related to new trends in treatment and care as well as shaping clinical education and training programs. Provides oversight, feedback, evaluation and leadership in imparting these best practices to clinical staff.
- Oversees the agency’s response to Request for Proposals and the attainment of funding for new clinical initiatives and programs.
- Provides expertise by assisting the Board and Management Team with the formulation, development, and implementation of clinical strategies for TVN’s strategic plan. The CCO will involve our local partners and clients in helping determine TVN’s clinical strategic direction.
- Provide data and critical information on trends, changes in service improvement and developments in the field to the Board, staff, and CLO. This assures the continued growth and success of the Organization by creating the strategic culture necessary to accomplish its strategic objectives.
- Works closely with the CPO and CFO to incorporate the financial impact of the clinical strategies of the strategic plan into TVN’s operating budget.
- Communicates with internal and external entities to foster relationships and participates in new employee orientation and any media appearances as necessary.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the President/CEO in the best interest of the organization.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Education – Master’s degree with both a clinical and not-for-profit business concentration. Requires maintenance of professional Independent Licensure.
- Experience – 10 years of progressive management experience in the social service industry. Working knowledge of good management practices, financial accounting and reporting, program operations, human resource planning and implementation, information technologies, customer networking, plus legal consideration and responsibilities in regulatory issues, contract negotiations, and professional leadership development and training.
- Abilities – Ability to lead and inspire employees, to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, supervise and motivate subordinates. Requires an understanding of strategic and financial processes, including budgeting and project planning. Must have the ability to read, interpret, and review project run costs. Must have working knowledge of computers and software applications commensurate with the position, including accounting and spreadsheets. Strong interpersonal, written and analytical skills are required. There is a high degree of training and coaching involved. Must have the insight to look at the operation from a distance and to visualize its best operating structure. Must be able to communicate that operating structure and incorporate it into the overall business plan.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License and maintains a driving record that allows that individual to be insurable with the insurance company providing The Village Network with vehicle insurance.
Physical Demands:
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, computer printer, etc.
- Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company
- Ability to handle bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, reaching, and walking for periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds independently
