Education, Work Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in non-profit management or a related field, or a portfolio demonstrating equivalent expertise.
- Proven record in volunteer management, community and donor engagement, and fundraising event management.
- Preferred experience in marketing, promotions, public relations, and special events.
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations, ideally in Ventura County, with familiarity in medical and/or childcare organizations.
- General knowledge and experience in facility management.
- Demonstrated budgetary responsibility.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and tools such as Outlook, Canva, Constant Contact, and digital media platforms.
- Knowledge and experience in layout and design.
- Confident communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong public speaking and presentation abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups of people and personalities.
- Flexible and efficient time management with the ability to prioritize workloads.

Language Skills
Ability to read, write and/or interpret general business documents and correspondence reports, and procedure manuals. Must be able to read and interpret information in English. Strong communication and presentation skills in both oral and written forms. Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to questions from diverse groups, including managers, clients, board members, families, and the general public. Ability to present facts and recommendations clearly and concisely. Candidates with multi-language skills are encouraged to apply. Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
Mathematical and Computer Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including basic math, percentages, discounts, and interest, with strong proficiency in Excel for performing calculations and analyzing data within spreadsheets. Skilled in managing budgets, making data-driven and budget-based decisions, and reporting on expenses to support organizational objectives. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with additional experience using Canva, Constant Contact, and digital media platforms.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:A valid California Driver’s License and a clean driving record
are required to operate company vehicles, as needed.

Physical Demands
This role is not physically demanding in the traditional sense but does require stamina for extended periods of focus, high levels of engagement, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Employees may occasionally be required to lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds. For items exceeding 25 pounds, team lifting techniques should be used, and assistance from a supervisor or team member is required. Push/pull carts should be utilized when necessary to ensure safety, and employees must not attempt to lift, push, pull, or carry objects that are too heavy.
