DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting and finance team!
About this Position:
As the Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring all payments are received and processed accurately and efficiently, as well as reconciling and correcting any discrepancies as needed, offering internal support, and communicating with clients.
Day-to-day duties include reviewing payments—cash, check, and card transactions—and reconciling them in EzyVet; handling client communications including addressing billing inquiries, and refunds. This includes managing payment agreements, preparing monthly statements for clients with outstanding balances, making collection calls, and handling the write-off of delinquent accounts and submitting them to collections. You will also maintain relationships with merchant card service providers and serve as the CareCredit liaison, providing client support as needed.
Additionally, you will act as part of the larger accounting and finance team by processing month-end and year-end transactions, helping with audit preparations, and contributing to various accounting projects as needed.

Wage Range:
This position will pay $23-27 per hour depending on education, certification, and experience.
Schedule and Location:
This position is full-time and will typically work Monday through Friday. This position will be fully on-site at our NW Portland, Oregon hospital location for at least the first 6 months to ensure quality training and accuracy. After that, hybrid work may be available, contingent upon manager approval, with a minimum of 3 days per week on-site required.

- Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of EzyVet and/or NetSuite a plus.
Who we are looking for:
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in accounting, finance, or another related field OR 2+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts receivable strongly preferred
- Minimum one year of experience in a customer service or other client facing role required.
- Experience in a veterinary or medical facility and familiarity with veterinary or medical terminology and supplies is a plus but not required.
- A suitable combination of education, industry training, and experience may substitute.
