Summary
As a senior member of the Advancement & Alumni Relations team, the director of advancement services provides the vision and strategy for implanting value-added enterprise solutions in support of development and engagement efforts. The director is responsible for managing the gift processing operations including the integrity of constituent data, accurate and timely processing of gifts and adherence to university standards, IRS and other regulations pertaining to fundraising.

Essential Job Functions
- Manages the receiving, processing and receipting of gifts to the university, as well as, pledge collection activity
- Develops and maintains policy and procedure statements to comply with university standards, IRS and other regulations related to gift acceptance and provides applicable information for proper accounting of gifts
- Manages the advancement database including software maintenance and enhancements by collaborating with information technology staff on infrastructure and hardware issues to maintain good technical performance of the database system
- Directs work processes to automate manual processes to improve accuracy and efficiency of the operations
- Oversees the reporting and analysis activities universitywide in order to monitor performance against goals and use trend analysis to inform future planning
- Verifies the data integrity of records and systems use and maintains the accuracy, confidentiality and integrity of biographical, demographical, gift records and other information
- Identifies and resolves gift acceptance issues and communicates with constituents pertaining to gift issues
- Assists in the preparation and monitoring of department budget
- Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree
- Moderate amount of experience in fundraising or other related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT
