JOB TITLE: Grants Manager

CUSTOMER: Funders, volunteers, other staff, community
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Grants Manager plays a critical role in advancing the mission of United Way of the CSRA by securing funding through grants and ensuring compliance with funding requirements. This position is responsible for identifying, writing, and managing grant applications, as well as maintaining relationships with funders, coordinating grant-related reporting, and supporting strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Grant Research & Identification
- Conduct thorough research to identify grant opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and programs.
- Maintain a calendar of grant opportunities, deadlines, and reporting requirements.

Grant Writing & Submission
- Write compelling grant proposals and applications tailored to funder requirements.
- Collaborate with program staff to develop accurate budgets and gather program-specific data for grant submissions.
- Ensure timely submission of all grant applications, renewals, and reports.

Grant Management
- Monitor the implementation of grant-funded programs to ensure compliance with funder guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of all grants, including applications, budgets, communications, and reports.
- Track expenditures and ensure proper allocation of funds in collaboration with the finance team.

Funder Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with current and potential funders, including foundations, government agencies, and corporate partners.
- Coordinate and participate in funder site visits, calls, and meetings as necessary.

Reporting & Evaluation
- Prepare and submit interim and final reports to funders, including outcomes, impact, and financial updates.
- Collaborate with program staff to evaluate and measure the success of grant-funded programs.

Strategic Planning
- Work with leadership to identify funding priorities and develop long-term grant strategies.
- Stay informed about trends and changes in the funding landscape, including government policies and foundation priorities.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in grant writing and grants management, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience with budget preparation and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in grant management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working collaboratively across teams and with funders.
- Knowledge of nonprofit funding sources and grant compliance requirements.

Salary Range:
$45,000-$50,000
