EWG is seeking to hire a Senior Director, EWG Verified, to join our Market Impact team. The Senior Director will lead EWG’s fast growing certification program, EWG VERIFIED program, and play a pivotal role in shaping the impact of the program. EWG VERIFIED is a licensing program that assesses and identifies products that meet EWG VERIFIED criteria, our highest standard for transparency, health, and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the EWG VERIFIED licensing program, overseeing all prospecting, sales, recruitment, application process, contract negotiations and performance metrics.
- Manages the EWG Verified science compliance team, responsible for collecting and updating product information, maintaining documentation, ensuring quality control, and developing protocols for enhanced efficiency.
- Manages the EWG VERIFIED sales team, responsible for brand communication and relationship building, prospecting and member recruitment.
- Oversee the end-to-end experience of the EWG VERIFIED program, including communication with brands and suppliers, screening and validating data submitted by companies, identifying gaps in submissions, and uploading relevant data to designated platforms.
- Collaborate with other EWG experts from partnerships, engagement, and communication initiatives aligned with program goals.
- Collaborate with the EWG science team on program science support and represent EWG Verified program interest in the process of criteria update and changes
- Ensure compliance with EWG’s databases and verification program standards, maintaining a high level of accuracy and integrity in all program activities.
- Manage client timelines and deliverables, providing exceptional service and support throughout the verification process.
- Stay up to date on the latest trends in science and consumer interests in the healthy living space.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in program management, preferably in a scientific or environmental health role.
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience in managing teams and driving performance.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders including brands, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in data management and analysis, with experience using relevant tools and software.
- Passion for environmental health and consumer advocacy, with a commitment to advancing EWG’s mission.
- Prior experience with consumer products and their ingredients is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Chemistry, Public Health, or related disciplines.
Location: Washington, D.C.
Compensation: Annual salary range of $145,000- $160,000. Salary is commensurate with experience. EWG offers excellent health care, paid parental leave and a tax-deferred 403(b) plan, including matched contributions.
