Position Summary
Performs duties to direct and maintain production within the Bingo Press Department. Responsible for metrics tied to departmental success, such as quality assurance improvement, production efficiency improvement, and safety incident reduction. Safely performs position specific responsibilities to ensure a high level of productivity and quality while adhering to all relevant company policies and procedures. Identifies and recommends process improvements to streamline and increase efficiency of existing programs.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
- Meets daily with department management to understand and communicate production plans and requirements to production workers; establishes and maintains workflow
- Provides guidance, coaching, and counseling to production workers to improve job performance, quality, safety, and other areas; documents observations and makes employment action recommendations accordingly
- Ensures conformance to quality standards and requirements; takes immediate corrective action to meet quality standards if deficits are discovered
- Monitors and records metrics reflecting production efficiency; takes immediate corrective action to meet production goals if deficits are discovered
- Promotes a work culture focused on continuous improvement using lean manufacturing methodologies
- Implements process improvements to minimize operating cost by controlling material usage, scrap, reworked items, and machine and manpower utilization
- Provides response in the event of emergency, ensuring production worker safety and security; escalates safety and security concerns appropriately
- Escalates or takes action to correct concerns relating to faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions
- Enforces and observes all prescribed safety rules and regulations and ensures work areas are maintained in a neat and orderly condition
- Assists production workers in troubleshooting mechanical and process issues, making minor repairs or replacing parts as needed
- Adheres to company and departmental policies and rules as defined by the employee handbook or management
- Performs other duties as assigned and works from written and verbal instruction
Travel and Work Schedule:
Position requires a work schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, or early morning hours, depending on operational needs
Shift is defined as "Continental" with a four day/three day rotating schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday - 12 hours
- Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday - 12 hours
Experience and Education
- BS/BA in technical or manufacturing related field preferred
- High school diploma / GED equivalent required
- Six Sigma certification preferred
- Leadership certification preferred
