Community Support Specialist

Community Support Specialist – Make an Impact Every Day!

Are you passionate about helping others live healthier, more fulfilling lives? BHcare is looking for a Community Support Specialist to provide essential support to individuals working toward personal growth, stability, and independence.

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours/week) with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM, except for one evening per week (Tues, Wed, or Thurs: 11 AM – 7 PM).

What You’ll Do:

Provide individual and group support to help clients achieve their goals
Assist with life skills development, employment, education, and community involvement
Conduct assessments and develop personalized recovery plans
Offer crisis intervention and outreach as needed
Help clients connect with healthcare and support systems
Maintain accurate clinical records and progress notes

What We’re Looking For:

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred; alternative qualifications accepted (see below)
Behavioral Health Experience: Minimum of 2–4 years (depending on education level)
Tech Savvy: Comfortable using Microsoft 365 and electronic health records
Reliable Transportation: Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree preferred. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, Associates degree or College coursework equivalent (2 years) and 2 years work exp in behavioral health field OR high school diploma and minimum of 4 years of experience in the behavioral health field required.
RSS certification, mental health certification or related and acceptable training preferred. Ability to complete training as may be required for position and program assigned.
Knowledge of Psychiatric Rehabilitation is desirable.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must maintain an acceptable driving record and be insurable at a reasonable rate under the Organization’s auto insurance plan.
Must be proficient in Microsoft 365. Must be able to navigate through electronic health records system (EHR).
