Advocates is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to work one-on-one with a bright and friendly gentleman with cerebral palsy. This individual has limited mobility and requires full assistance with personal care, support with daily routines, and help engaging in meaningful community activities. He enjoys staying active and involved, and you will play a key role in promoting his independence and enhancing his quality of life.
As a DSP, your responsibilities will include assisting with all aspects of personal care. Ability to assist with lifting/transfers as needed. You’ll also support him during community-based outings, help encourage independence in daily living skills, and provide respectful, friendly companionship.
The ideal candidate will be dependable, patient, and supportive, with a genuine interest in helping others. Prior experience as a DSP, PCA, or caregiver is preferred but not required. Comfort with providing personal care and mobility assistance is important.
Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. DSP must have a valid email address.
Hours and days of work
Tuesday & Thursday 8am - 4pm
Pay rate: $22 per hour when providing direct support. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $15.50 per hour.
Location: Cicero, NY
