Position Profile:
The Student Ministries Director is a member of the Student Ministries team, reporting directly to the Student Ministries Lead Pastor. This role is responsible for all aspects of student ministry grades 5-12, with an emphasis on events and operations. They work alongside the Student Ministries Lead Pastor and Family Ministries Pastor overall vision and purposes of the church.
Skill Set:
This director should be a strong communicator with biblical teaching, skilled at contextualizing concepts in a way students can understand. They should possess strong vision, organizational, and shepherding skills. They must be a team player, with the ability to relate to students as well as work directly with families of the church.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Student Ministry Director is responsible for overseeing and planning activities and events, especially in the areas of discipleship, counseling, mentoring, and relationship building. In addition, they have shared responsibilities of programming and execution of events and are general team members of Student Ministries.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Works in coordination with the overall goals of the high/middle school ministries
- Supervises the planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating of student leadership teams, visitor follow-up, and any specific ministry details or ideas
- Determines objectives and goals for this ministry in coordination with the Students Ministries Lead Pastor and initiates strategies to fulfill them
- Enlists, equips, and evaluates all workers needed for this ministry
- Provides encouragement and support to students and their families who are in the hospital or are in a crisis
- Provides ministry opportunities to help students identify their gifts, strengths, and weaknesses so they can maximize their time and energy for the Kingdom of God
- Develops campus relationships with administrators, coaches, and staff that will lead to ministry and evangelistic opportunities
- Assists the Student Ministries Lead Pastor with growth and training opportunities for small group coaches
- Keeps current with ministry trends if deemed necessary by the Student Ministries Lead Pastor
- Available to provide support in the planning of all youth activities, including mission trips, summer camps, retreats, and other activities
- Teaches coed gatherings and specific electives at Underground, Oasis, and Wake

Experience Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree with youth ministry or family ministry suggested
- An understanding of student ministry Christian education within the local church
- The ability to relate to and work under the direction and vision of the executive leadership of the church and alongside the Student Ministries teams from all campuses
- Ability to recruit, motivate, and equip adult and student leaders, teachers, and parents
- Agrees with the philosophy, variables, and non-negotiable s of the Student Ministry guides
- Lives consistently with the moral qualifications of 1 Timothy 3 and Ephesians 4 & 5
