Overview:
Launched in 1983 as Public Interest Projects, a 501(c)(3) public charity, NEO Philanthropy (“NEO”) is a New York-based national leader in innovative philanthropic solutions. We lead large-scale collaborative grant-making funds on a range of social justice issues, provide fiscal sponsorship and management to projects and campaigns, manage donor-advised funds, and develop organization and field-focused capacity-building initiatives.
Position:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Salesforce Operations, the Salesforce Analyst will be responsible for addressing and troubleshooting daily inquiries and supporting the ongoing operations of NEO’s Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP), community portals, third-party applications, and integrations with other platforms. This position requires working with other teams in the department and collaborating with various program departments at NEO. The candidate is a dedicated individual with a passion for NEO’s mission. This role is full time, overtime exempt.
Location:
NEO Philanthropy has its headquarters in NYC and the Finance and Infrastructure department is located in that office. NEO HQ has a hybrid work remote structure based on job function. It is our expectation that this role will be able to be fully remote; with in-person meetings required 2 times per year. This role will have the option to select a partially or fully in-office schedule if they are based in NYC. This role will be expected to be available during the working hours 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. EST to provide timely support.

Responsibilities:
- Act as support for Salesforce-related inquiries and initiatives.
- Working with the Assistant Director of Salesforce Operations, support the ongoing enhancement of NEO’s Salesforce flows (inbound and outbound funds processes), automation, object page layout and field changes, multiple external portals, integrated third-party applications, and future platform integrations.
- Provide inquiry support and error troubleshooting by monitoring the inquiries from NEO’s Salesforce Slack channel and email; escalate critical issues to the Assistant Director of Salesforce operations and NEO’s Salesforce technical consultant.
- Troubleshoot error messages and general blockers, and debug flow error logs.
- Decipher developing system needs, gather process context from affected stakeholders, and present issues to the Assistant Director of Salesforce Operations.
- Update and create Salesforce templates (such as grant agreements, contracts, and addendas) on an as-needed basis.
- Monitor Salesforce data through regular review and cleanup of duplicates, project portfolios, open legacy records, deleted records, and more.
- Conduct monthly license allocations for Salesforce and related software to support the financial budgeting process.
- Address reporting needs by ensuring functional, organized, and easy-to-use reports and dashboards.
- Manage user account maintenance and creation and deactivation of internal users, partner users, and community users.
- Provide onboarding training for Salesforce and related systems.
- Support the Assistant Director of Salesforce Operations with training material creation for current and new processes.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform related responsibilities and projects as assigned.
- Backup responsibilities for the Salesforce Operations Team.

- Bachelor’s degree required;
- At least 1-2 years of experience as a Salesforce administrator a must;
- Salesforce Administrator certification required;
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce NPSP environment required;
- Experience with Salesforce, including but not limited to Salesforce NPSP, communities, third-party applications, flows, automation, listviews, reports, and dashboards.
- Mission-driven and passionate about social justice and nonprofit work;
- Great time-management and prioritization skills when dealing with multiple simultaneous requests;
- Responsive and proactive working style;
- Positive attitude, team player, and problem-solving skills;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization;
- Comfortable working in multiple software and technology platforms.
Compensation: Compensation for this role will vary depending on the experience of the candidate. The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $79,000 per year.
