DescriptionSUMMARY
The Development Associate, Philanthropic Events will support the Philanthropic Events team with the development and execution of third-party and signature fundraising events which benefit the institutional funding priorities of Connecticut Children’s Foundation.
ResponsibilitiesROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with third-party fundraising event logistics, committees and volunteer coordination.
Provide administrative support to the Philanthropic Events Team, including preparing meeting materials, assisting with mailings, scheduling meetings, data entry and analysis.
Administrative management of the Create Your Own fundraiser (CYO) platform and program.
Assist with the creation of event correspondence, briefings, run of show and talking points.
Create with support social media posts, email content, digital calendar listings and other marketing collateral.
Solicit and manage the acceptance and recognition of monetary donations, in-kind gifts and sponsorships.
Maintain and report accurate event revenue and expenses.
Facilitate check presentations for third-party event organizers.
Represent Connecticut Children's Foundation in the community (events, meetings, Medical Center tours, etc.) furthering Connecticut Children’s reputation for excellence.
Demonstrates support for the mission, values and goals of the organization.
Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION SPECIFIC ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
This position requires an understanding of fundraising, event planning, volunteer management, stewardship, expense and revenue reconciliation, and an ability to provide assistance to the department as needed.
QualificationsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
High School Diploma or equivalent, plus minimum of 2 years relevant work, volunteer or internship experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
POSITION SPECIFIC JOB EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Previous fundraising, event planning experience.
Knowledge of Salesforce or comparable donor database preferred.
Experience creating artwork and videos in Canva preferred.
Experience with creating effective content for social media platforms preferred.
LICENSE and/or CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
Valid driver’s license and working vehicle.
Utilize hospital owned vehicles to transport equipment and event supplies between main location, satellite locations and event venues.

Work Environment:
Indoor office environment. Occasional outdoor events with uneven natural and man-made surfaces.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform continious bending, twisting, stooping reaching and lifting of moderate to heavy weight material up to 25 pounds.
Must be highly mobile, able to access all areas of the premises.
