Director, Nonprofit Partnerships, Partner Solutions (Hybrid in Washington, DC; Chicago, IL; Durham, NC; New York, NY; or San Francisco, CA)

The Director, Nonprofit Organizations serves as a primary leader managing the key strategic partnerships that Arabella has with each of our nonprofit
fiscal sponsor clients.
The Director leads various internal teams and collaborates with subject matter experts that support these partnerships, managing the delivery of excellent operational support
provided to the nonprofits. The Director also coordinates with senior leadership to ensure an aligned and strategic approach to engagement and supports the implementation
of strategic initiatives. The Director serves as one of the primary liaisons for the fiscal sponsor leaders, making sure that the entities remain strategically aligned—with each
other as well as with Arabella. This role generally reports to a Senior Director, Partner Solutions.
Essential Responsibilities
Client Service
- Manages the day-to-day activities of the fiscal sponsors, ensuring excellent delivery of client service
- Connects dots across internal stakeholders and subject matter expert teams to ensure a consistent client experience, and to streamline operations and surface and elevate critical priorities
- Leads and support cross-team strategic initiatives that impact the partnership with the fiscal sponsors
- Recommends strategies, structures and resourcing to achieve results
- Oversees the support provided for fiscal sponsor board engagement, including agenda setting and material development, and participate in meetings to provide strategic perspective, as appropriate
- Operationalizes relationship management strategy, including agenda setting and execution of all regular and ad hoc convenings
- Serves as a primary point of contact when issues arise, or when coordination is required across various stakeholder groups
Strategic Partnership
- Identifies opportunities for enhanced partnership between Arabella and each fiscal sponsor and proactively implements activities to strengthen client engagement
- Leads workstreams of the Arabella partnership strategy, project managing across teams
- Supports development of, and monitoring and adherence to the Administrative Services Agreement (ASA)
- Manages annual planning and budgeting alignment processes across entities to ensure coordinated strategies, objectives and resourcing
- Manages monitoring, metrics, accountability and reporting initiatives
- Maintain awareness of fiscal sponsor financial picture, elevating analysis as appropriate
To Be Successful in This Role, You’ll Need
- 8‐10 years of relevant professional experience
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent client service, including effectively managing resources and identifying and implementing enhancements to efficiently achieve high service standards
- Knowledge of nonprofit budget management, financial reporting, forecasting, and profitability monitoring
- Experience coaching staff and teammates on how to address complex service challenges
- Ability to oversee and advise on multiple complex projects, including encouraging workflow and work plan innovations, and ensuring high quality deliverables
- Excellent written and oral communications skills which allow you to understand various stakeholder perspectives, effectively communicate difficult messages, and represent the firm to external audiences
- Proven ability to guide teams in overcoming collaboration challenges and promote compromise, inclusion, and openness while meeting aggressive timelines and maintaining accountability
- Ability to foster and promote safe and inclusive environments to build team connections and trust
- Creative problem solving and ability to identify innovative approaches to solve complex challenges
- Deep knowledge of nonprofit governance and legal compliance
Preferred
- Familiarity and/or experience working within a fiscal sponsorship structure is a plus
- Familiarity with the rules governing 501(c)(3)’s and 501(c)(4)’s
- An appreciation for efficient processes and a desire to improve them

Please note that we work with a hybrid workplace strategy to ensure continued flexibility for our staff, while deepening our strong culture rooted in collaboration and in-person interactions between colleagues. Our hybrid schedule options include: Flex, with 1-2 days per week in the office, or Office-based, with 3+ days per week in the office (or more if preferred). The Partner Solutions Team provides operations and back-end services and support to fiscally sponsored projects housed at multiple 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) nonprofit organizations. Projects range from new and innovative public interest organizations to donor collaborative initiatives to grants administration programs and cover a diverse range of focus areas. Total Rewards (compensation and benefits)
This is a full/part-time position. We offer a competitive and holistic total rewards package that includes salary, bonus, and benefits. Our compensation ranges are based on national compensation benchmarks for similar organizations.
The annual salary range for this position is $111,000 - $123,000, and this position has an annual bonus potential of 10%.
We consider national benchmark indicators along with job related skills, experience and relevant education and training, to determine compensation that is fair and competitive.
