The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is adding a Civil Engineer, PE to work in our East
Lansing, MI office. The successful candidate will be lead an engineering
team in our civil and water/wastewater design groups. These groups
provide design engineering and construction management services for
surrounding municipalities in Michigan and other locations across the US.
Typical projects include a wide variety of municipal and private projects,
including water and wastewater treatment, stormwater, grading, sewer,
water analysis, and evaluation of regulations.

Your Role:
-
Perform conceptual and detailed design and hydraulic calculations
and analyses
-
Prepare detailed engineering reports, construction drawings,
specifications, cost estimates, and supporting documents
-
Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate
documentation on various reports and design projects

Perform engineering interpretation of specifications and drawings,
recommending and documenting design modifications, and coordinating with
the design team

Review submittals from contractors for conformance with engineering
specifications and drawings and respond to requests for additional
information

Provide onsite resident engineer responsibilities during the
construction of projects to ensure contract design and specifications are
being followed
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) License required, or ability to obtain
within one year
-
5+ years of experience in planning and designing water/wastewater
treatment, distribution/conveyance, pumping, and storage facilities
-
Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, to include Excel, word
processing, and scheduling programs, as well as proficiency in
AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Revit.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

This position could require periodic travel, approximately 15% or
more
