OVERVIEW:
Year Up United is seeking a Senior Director of Corporate Philanthropy to secure financial resources from major corporations nationwide in support of the Year Up United mission, ongoing operations, and strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Director of National Foundation & Corporate Partnerships, the Senior Director of Corporate Philanthropy is responsible for meeting annual cash goals through engagement with corporations (corporate foundations, CSR divisions, and other vehicles) and other potential national sponsors. This role is responsible for leveraging Year Up United’s existing corporate partnerships to maximize engagement, and sourcing new relationships that align with the organization’s strategic priorities. This individual is responsible for effective pipeline management including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts for regional, and national corporate sponsors in the six-figure and above range to help fuel the organization’s growth.
The Senior Director of Corporate Philanthropy will lead and iterate on our recently launched Corporate Changemakers sponsorship program to engage major companies as internship, hiring, volunteer engagement, and philanthropic partners. They will take a holistic approach to partnership creation using a shared value framework to maximize resources and engagement. This individual will also serve as a strategy consultant for all levels of corporate philanthropy across the Year Up United network.
In keeping with Year Up United’s values, the Senior Director of Corporate Philanthropy will also have the opportunity to interact with students as coach, group facilitator, and advocate, participating in creating and sustaining a positive educational environment, with trust among students, faculty, and site leaders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward existing and new corporate donors in the 6-7 figure and above range
- Achieve cash and revenue goals, including multi-year sponsorship agreement targets, to help secure the organization’s annual operating need
- Manage and evolve national sponsorship program and other related initiatives
- Cultivate relationships with corporate foundation leadership and staff to successfully secure investments at significant level
- Design and execute national and local sponsorship strategy in partnership with local fundraisers
- Work collaboratively across functional teams including Corporate Engagement, Marketing, and with other relevant stakeholders
- Represent Year Up United by attending and participating in external meetings and events; and
- Other duties as assigned
Salary Range: $106,100 - $165,000
QUALIFICATIONS:
Year Up United is seeking candidates who excel particularly in relationship-building, are results-oriented, and have strong communication skills. Candidates should also demonstrate the following:
- At least 7 years of fundraising success with an emphasis on major gifts
- A track record of developing and maintaining strong partnerships with a diverse set of corporate philanthropy partners
- A demonstrated commitment to achieving results: specifically securing 6+ figure sponsorships, meeting individual cash goals, and increasing corporate philanthropy commitments over time
- Experience managing multiple projects
- Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills in a dynamic organizational environment
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- An understanding of the Opportunity Divide and its drivers, as well as a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Year Up United has established salary ranges for each of our sites, which allows us to pay employees competitively, equitably and consistently in different geographic markets. For roles in which the location is listed as flexible, the range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
