As a Sr. Advisor – Area Development (Event-based Fundraiser), you will play a pivotal role in driving our fundraising efforts in Northern California. You will be responsible for developing and implementing meaningful acquisition, cultivation, and stewardship strategies to grow giving and meet or exceed revenue goals with St. Jude donors and supporters. This role serves as the lead staff for flagship fundraising events and manages an annual giving portfolio, including activating, supporting, and inspiring high-value volunteers and committees to identify and acquire donors through relationships, events, and activations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute effective cultivation and stewardship strategies to enhance philanthropy from St. Jude donors.
- Activate, support, and inspire high-value volunteers and event committees to identify and acquire donors through relationships, events, and activations.
- Utilize interpersonal and sales skills to build relationships with volunteers and donors, primarily through face-to-face interactions and strategic communication.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve defined KPIs, monitor progress, assess results, and communicate insights.
- Provide support, motivation, direction, and resources for fundraising initiatives through various communication channels.
- Manage a blended portfolio of corporate, individual leadership annual donors, and leadership volunteers.
- Represent ALSAC-St. Jude Children's Research Hospital positively in all areas.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or more than 6 years of experience in fundraising, development, customer service, or sales.
- Proven success in relationship management and peer-to-peer fundraising.
- Ability to relate to donors and volunteers from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated negotiating and listening skills.
- Donor/customer-oriented with excellent writing, telephone, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and fundraising software.
- Clear communication and the ability to influence others.
- Ability to travel frequently within the territory area and occasionally to Memphis, TN.
- Experience working in multicultural communities and philanthropic networks, preferably in the Bay Area and Silicon Valley.
- A second language facility (Asian, South Asian, Spanish) is a plus.
- Valid driver's license required. The position comes with a company car equipped with AAA membership, insurance coverage, a maintenance plan, and a fuel card for convenience. This car is also eligible for personal use.

This compensation range is an estimate offered in good faith and considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At ALSAC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is 88,800 - 125,000.
