The Nippon Life and Stanford Research Collaboration Program aims to develop AI-driven deep learning models to detect early indicators of chronic diseases and predict healthcare costs, leveraging both EMR and wearable device data to enhance population health management. By identifying critical health transition states, the collaboration seeks to improve risk assessment, reduce hospitalizations, and provide insights for healthcare resource utilization in the U.S., Japan and other nations. The program is looking for candidates with diverse backgrounds to become part of the program team.
The ideal Program Manager Lead will thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, collaborative environment and enjoy supporting this research collaboration program. The Program Manager role assists the program PIs with managing the smooth planning and execution of successful completion of this collaboration program. The Program Manager Lead will serve as a key resource for the Research Collaboration Program’s management team.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and client support for the research program, while tracking progress and ensuring team alignment.
- Provide regular written progress updates for research and business partners, addressing deliverable status and risk mitigation plans.
- Act as the primary liaison with internal and external vendors, and coordinate with PIs on budget needs and program status.
- Handle legal agreements, manage business issues with Stanford legal resources, and assist with data analysis to support program research needs.
- Support human subjects, data confidentiality, and data sharing processes, and create, review, and approve SOWs for custom program builds.
- Ensure program success and client satisfaction by responding promptly to issues and providing clear, accurate information.
- Help update quality measures in the program application, including reviewing specifications and coding for accuracy.
- Prioritize tasks based on program needs and guidelines and escalate issues to the PIs when necessary.
- Act as the main contact for program budget and invoicing, working closely with the PIs.
- Work with the program admin team to track financial transactions and serve as the main liaison for budget finance issues.
- Coordinate with the relevant team to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.

- Demonstrated ease with interpreting and communicating data and graphs
- Ability to problem-solve customer needs in a professional, engaging, and supportive manner
- Ability to quickly learn the technical details of a specialty web application
- Experience with electronic health record systems and/or health care coding systems
- MBA degree
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
- Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience
- At least 2 year Program Manager role for managing international business or projects
