JOB SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the Groundskeeper involves the upkeep and grounds maintenance of all contracted properties to maintain and enhance curb appeal.
This is not a supervisory role.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Punctual and dependable attendance.
- Operate equipment to maintain lawns such as mowers and trimmers to maintain lawn and grass, care for plants, trees, and shrubs.
- Cuts, rakes, and will provide routine clean-up to include removal of unwanted, dead or damaged trees and plants.
- Provides ground maintenance in all seasons.
- Responsible for snow and dirt removal from buildings, lots and sidewalks.
- Utilize shovels and other hand equipment to spread mulch, dirt, seed and lawn care chemicals as needed.
- Completes grounds work as directed which may include picking up and emptying trash containers, cleaning dumpster areas, disposing of trash, garbage, pet waste, litter, and removing debris.
- Keeps the grounds and exterior environment of a facility in a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and healthy condition.
- Maintains sidewalks and walking areas clear of loose grass and brush.
- Thoroughly clean breezeways by removing cobwebs, bugs in lights, and wiping down exterior doors and handrails.
- Set up and take down tables, chairs and any other equipment for outdoor events.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and ground equipment.
- Must be groomed and wear clean work attire as required and maintain a professional image.
- Attend all required trainings as necessary.
- Review and be familiar with Goodwill of Central Oklahoma safety policies, programs and procedures and adhere to all safety rules, regulations and safety codes. Attend safety training and meetings and report any unsafe work conditions, accidents or injuries immediately
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- GED or high school diploma preferred.
- One-year of related experience and/or training preferred.
- Must be 21 years old.
- Must pass OSBI/DOC background check.
- Must have a valid OK Driver license.
- Reliable transportation and communication required.

- This work is physical and requires the following activities: Standing, walking, twisting, bending, grabbing and reaching for long periods of time; occasional squatting, kneeling, stooping, climbing ladders or stairs to access various areas of the property; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, smelling and visual acuity.
- Required to push/pull items and reach overhead and move equipment.
- Must be able to hear to detect sounds indicating potential issues, such as machinery noises or alarms.
- The ability to lift 50 pounds, or more with assistance.
- This position requires flexibility to work onsite, primarily outdoors.
- This is considered a safety sensitive position. No level of impairment from drugs, alcohol or prescription medications will be acceptable while performing the essential functions of this job.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Works in an uncontrolled climate and will be exposed to all weather conditions 100% of the time while performing job duties.
- May require working in confined spaces, heights, and potentially hazardous areas.
- Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Works a variable schedule as needed for business operations which may include days, evenings, weekends and holidays as well as overtime when required by management.
- Moderate to loud noise exposure due to equipment use and when events occur.
