- Bachelor’s degree
- Two years of relevant experience in development services functions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with relational databases (Access and Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge preferred).
- Advanced computer skills with MS Office (Word, and Excel) and mail-merge.
- Ability to supervise and mentor others.
- Meticulous attention to detail in a multitasking environment required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required; must be able to effectively communicate and work with all levels of College administrative staff, faculty, trustees, and students.
- Knowledge of general development processes required; experience with gift processing and associated CASE and IRS guidelines preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and public communication skills (in person, phone, etc.).
- Knowledge of related IRS policies and regulations and CASE standards preferred.

Position Summary
Reporting to the VP of Development and Alumni Relations, the Manager of Development Services is responsible for gift processing and recording, routine constituent account maintenance, data integrity, and reporting.The role coordinates donor acknowledgements and develops targeted mailing lists and reports. The Manager recommends and enforces data and gift-entry procedures and administrative protocols. The position is expected to resolve issues independently within parameters or under the guidance of the VP of Development and Alumni Relations.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Process all gifts (cash, checks, securities, gifts-in-kind, credit cards, bank drafts, matching gifts, payroll deductions) from alumni, friends, corporations, foundations, and other constituents - generate gift acknowledgement letters, receipts, and pledge reminders; ensure all gifts are recorded, deposited, and acknowledged in a timely manner and in accordance with internal, Council for the Advancement of Secondary Education (CASE), and IRS standards.
- Maintain accurate constituent records in Raiser’s Edge, including the maintenance of demographic information, batch coding of gift records, and maintenance of proper gift documentation – in either electronic or (where necessary) secure paper form. Protect and enforce the privacy of donor records.
- Conduct research on donor prospects and monitor database system imports and exports.
- Establish and maintain quality control standards for gift entry and gift acknowledgements. Interpret and advise staff of policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
- Continuously improve the quality of alumni and donor data. Document and regularly update procedures manual.
- Extract information from the database to develop and distribute scheduled and ad-hoc reports and lists to key internal and external constituents.
- Produce targeted mailing/email lists for solicitations, events and other campus activities.
- Work with development personnel to create and periodically update acknowledgement letters; ensure proper proofing of all outgoing acknowledgements for content, format, and consistency with college standards.
- Conduct monthly reconciliation of financial activity with the Office of the Controller to ensure accounting accuracy and comply with all internal and external and audit requests.
- Assist in the management of special auditing and data enhancement projects.
- Supervise select student workers.
- Perform other related duties and/or responsibilities as assigned or required.
